Ash Lodge is based close to the centre of Hull and provides residential care for those people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. The location is a busy area of the city with a number of shops, cafes and sports facilities within walking distance from Ash Lodge.
We work with people who have a range of needs and are able to provide person centred support packages for people who have complex needs and risks including people subject to Community Treatment Orders. We are committed to providing successful outcomes and the people we support are able to see clear evidence of their progress.
Ash Lodge works in partnership with local mental health teams and social services which ensures that all of the residents are receiving appropriate levels of support and that focus is based upon recovery and social inclusion.
Our team of experienced staff actively encourage people to integrate within the local community and provide people with the opportunity to improve social interaction and confidence. Activities are also organised within the home and are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth, with a view to people eventually leading more independent lives.

Activities at Ash Lodge
The Proudfoot Care Group is aware that lifestyle can potentially maximise people’s health as they age and we therefore promote physical wellbeing and exercise, diet and nutrition, cognitive activity and social engagement. Research suggests that this approach can keep the body and brain healthy and potentially reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
Remaining cognitively and socially active can improve overall health and we acknowledge the significance of this within the Proudfoot Care Group. Meaningful, enjoyable activities are available to everyone within our homes as a group or individually. We arrange ongoing projects within the home, trips outside of the home and aim to organise whatever the residents indicate that they would like to try.
We see social stimulation as important as the other types of care provided. We feel the key to delivering high quality social stimulation is knowing the person well and what their previous interests included and understanding how dementia or other mental health problem impacts upon their ability to engage in activities.
